I Am Like Ice

I am like ice
Only here for a moment
Have form but can’t hold it
And necessary

I am like ice
On a hot summer day
just a cube in the tray
Hardened to separate

I am like Ice
Diluting your vices
And frozen, frost bitten,
I’ll stick to your tongue

I am like ice
Just the same on the inside
As was when created
And able to preserve

I am like ice
I am cold
But unattended I hold
What it takes to be water
Which turns you to mold
